About the Business
Abbott Property Management was set up by Lyndsay Abbott and commenced trading in February 1980. Lyndsay's background was in general administration and organisation. From the outset, the ethos of the company has been to offer a professional service on a personal basis. At the time there was very little law governing lettings but, as legislation was introduced to protect both tenants and landlords, the company incorporated this and has kept abreast of all legal requirements as they come into practice to ensure the continuance of a professional service.
Very quickly, it became necessary to take on employees and we now have a staff of five. It was decided that it would be beneficial to belong to ARLA, the professional body governing letting agents, as to do so would be testimony of the high standards which we aim to achieve. After stringent checks and examinations, our membership was approved in 2000.
